Atelier House is a stunning 4-bedroom contemporary villa. It is located on a ridge on the west coast of Barbados and has beautiful views over the Caribbean Sea. It was completed in 2012. Finished with simple, elegant materials Atelier House is one of a kind. The kitchen is particularly lovely. It is open plan with lovely views and Portuguese limestone kitchen surfaces. The bathrooms have bespoke bathroom fittings.

Atelier House sits on a breezy ridge above an ancient mahogany wood looking out to glorious sunsets over the Caribbean.  Designed for those that appreciate contemporary architecture, simple modern furniture and breathtaking views.

 

The layout is designed to maximise the views from the plot so the shape of the building follows the lines of the boundary. The day/living space is cleverly separated from night/sleeping space for reasons of practicality — i.e. when the kids are in bed the adults can play without disturbing them!

The interiors use a simple palette of limestone and white painted walls to provide unity in all spaces and allow carefully chosen pieces of art and furniture some space to breathe.
 The dimensions of openings, walkways and rooms is intended to provide comfortable mobility such that a guest should never feel pinched for space.

The villa sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms.  The main bedroom is on the second floor and features a private balcony with en suite bath and an outdoor shower. There are three further bedrooms on the main level. One has an en suite bath and another outdoor shower, while the two remaining bedrooms share one large and luxurious bath.

 

Inside, you will find a bright and modern open-plan living space with a dramatic double-height ceiling and panoramic floor to ceiling windows, boasting exceptional views. There is a comfortable lounge area, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and stunning bedrooms. The master suite is located on the first floor and offers dual aspect windows and a wrap-around balcony. Outside you will find a large private infinity pool with cushioned sun loungers, a large pool deck with an alfresco dining area and a covered lounge area.
